Lilyan B Wright Service Award – Recognizes an individual or organization making a significant contribution to NHAHPERD.
Click Here for More InformationNAGWS Pathfinder Award – The National Association of Girls and Women and Sports honors a woman from each state that advocates, recruits, and enhances opportunities for girls and women in sport and sport leadership.
NHAHPERD’s Meritorious Achievement Award – Recognizes professionals who best exemplify exceptional and outstanding contributions to their respective disciplines. The recipient receives New Hampshire Excellence in Education Award in recognition of their leadership throughout the state during the “EDies” DOE annual celebration in June.
Click Here for More InformationNHAHPERD Teacher of the Year Award (Elementary, Middle or Secondary)- may be presented to a physical educator who has made significant contributions to forwarding the objectives of the NHAHPERD organization related to teaching physical education.
Eligibility requirements include:
1. Current NHAHPERD membership
2. Degree in and certification as a physical education teacher, or other recognized credentials in physical education (to be reviewed by the awards committee)
3. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in teaching physical education
4. Minimum of 60% of total teaching responsibility in teaching physical education
5. Full time teaching contract, current at the time of nomination and selection
NHAHPERD Outstanding Professional Award Health– may be presented to a health professional who has made significant contributions to forwarding the objectives of the NHAHPERD organization related to health. A nominee may come from any of the following areas of health promotion:
• Agency/Public/Community
• Business/Industry/Workplace
• Clinical Medical Care/Patient
• College/University
• School K-12
Eligibility requirements include:
1. Current NHAHPERD membership
2. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a health promotion field in New Hampshire.
3. Must have active involvement at the state, district, national and/or international levels.
NHAHPERD Outstanding Professional Award for Adapted Physical Education– may be presented to a health professional who has made significant contributions to forwarding the objectives of the NHAHPERD organization related to adapted physical education
Eligibility requirements include:
1. Current NHAHPERD membership
2. Degree in and certification as a physical education teacher, or other recognized credentials in physical education (to be reviewed by the awards committee)
3. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in teaching physical education
4. Minimum of 50% of total teaching responsibility in teaching physical education
5. Full time teaching contract, current at the time of nomination and selection
NHAHPERD Outstanding Professional Award for Recreation, Dance and College Teaching – may be presented annually to a recreation, dance or college teaching professional who has made significant contributions to forwarding the objectives of the NHAHPERD organization.
Eligibility requirements include:
1. Current NHAHPERD membership
2. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the discipline for which the award will be granted
3. Must have active involvement at the state, district, national and/or international levels.
